Tasmanian adventure, day 1

Before the tendency for me to forget of my beautiful memories in tassie, i'd better start writing. I'm just too lazy folks to jot them down here but i think i should for my own record and also to share with u. So here goes.

Day 1, 1/4 Thursday

We depart from sydney, transit in melbourne and arrived in hobart somewhere around 9.30am with virginblue flyer. Everything went smooth, took our rental car kia karnival at the airport and went straight to hobart city for brief sightseeing and also to get something to eat. We stopped at salamanca market, walked around, took piccas, and stopped somewhere at hobart harbour or bay or something and had seafood. The servings for one were huge!

After kenyang, we drove to greeveston where we'd be doing our tahune airwalk. We reached there sometime after lunch time, paid and went in. It was a nice warm up walk, the climb up was moderate, we bumped into cute small wallaby and then just went up straight. You see, tasmania is an island that's very well known for its nature. The place looked like a laid-back, away from too much hustle bustle of a city, even both airports (hobart and launceston) are small and relaxed. Nature means, full with its preserved forest, wide spread of its beautiful beaches and scenic views of the turquoise ocean. Preserved means, in the heart of nowhere forest..there lies beautiful lookouts that you only get to see if you brave yourself to walk through that nowhere forest. Fret not, it's not that difficult coz tracks and all are well prepared for tourist. Like i said, it's nature is tassie's highlight..so the signboards, tracks, reminders, directions are well written everywhere along the way. I think it's not really meant to be a real hiking spot but more to leisure walk for tourist to feel safe and enjoy their walks.

So we walked. There were stoned- and wooden-made stairs as well along the way. In the midst the tahune airwalk activity, we crossed a beautiful huon river through swinging bridge (jambatan gantung) and also tree top bridge. The swinging bridge, well i guess we had that everywhere in malaysia but because i dont do that often back then, so i find this kind of exciting. It was a long bridge that crossed a river and yes, it swings!! hence the name hehehe. Owh btw, the walk was named airwalk coz somewhere in the midst of it, we'll walk on a bridge that's situated on top of all those beautiful colored trees the forest owned. So it's kind of like we have the feeling of walking at the tip of the trees...hence the name, tree top walk. The view from top was nice i assure you! And therefore photos and more photos heheheh

After about 2 or 3 hours (i think,) we successfully did that and drove then to port arthur, our next activity in the itinerary. By then it was already almost dark..almost..coz it's mid autumn so the day time has gone shorter than before. We drove to port arthur to check in for the night and also our next day;s agenda is visiting port arthur's historical sites.

Arrived at the motel around 8ish pm and along the way it's so dark with no street lights coz it was a country side area. Amran took the role of driver for that day and i think during that night drive, the guys still chat this and that while the ladies all peacefully dozed off already haha. When we reached our motel front, it looked like such a haunted area to drive into hehehehe...all of us ladies have their own thots like being cheated, 'something something' with that house and the sorts hehehee..however when all light's were on, it turned out to be such a nice cozy house..very modern inside...we unpacked our food, maggi and fish fingers..fried those, prepared maggi and made hot drinks for all. Everything ready, all 6 of us sat down, had our simple dinner and chit chat. It was nice, the memories. After awhile, all of us retired for the day. Owh btw, it was so chilly that day and that area. In fact, throughout our stay in tassie, the weather was so sejuk!!

*icon scroll up, it's already too long an entry eh? stop sini lah dulu*
*piccas petang kang ah letak, to match this day 1 stories*
